One of the largest one-day youth wrestling tournaments in Kansas will be held in the area on Saturday March 6, 20101 at Hartman Arena.  The Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission and Park City Convention and Tourism are pleased to host 1,050 wrestlers, hailing from eight different states as they participate in the 21st Annual Park City-Wichita Wrestling Classic.

Olympian and three-time All-American wrestler from Oklahoma State, Kenny Monday, will provide a free clinic to participants on Friday, March 5th at 7:00 p.m.

The Classic gears up with the 6U, 8U and 14U beginning at 8:00 a.m. They will be followed by 10U, 12U, and High School Divisions at approximately 1:00 p.m. The day will conclude with the Championship Finals at 6:30 p.m.

Prairie Fire Marathon Turns Up the Heat in Wichita

Wichita, Kan. (Nov. 9, 2009) — Wichita Marathon and Via Christi leadership publically “triggered the spark” for the Prairie Fire Marathon today, unveiling the new name, look and focus of the 31st annual race, and issuing a challenge to Wichita to have 10,000 people committed to a healthier lifestyle by 10.10.10.

Formerly The Heart of Wichita Marathon, the Prairie Fire Marathon will take place on Oct. 10, 2010 (10-10-10) and have a community-wide focus aimed at turning up the heat on physical fitness in Wichita. Via Christi Health is presenting sponsor of the 2010 event.
