Wichita Corporate Challenge
Since 2002, the Wichita Corporate Challenge is the largest business-to-business athletic competition in the Wichita metropolitan area. Small and large companies alike enjoy team spirit, working together to achieve goals and networking within the community. Events are held at Wichita Collegiate School, Tallgrass Country Club, All-Star Sports, South Lakes Sports Complex and The Alley.
The 2015 Wichita Corporate Challenge gets underway today with 22 companies participating in 23 events.

MLB All-Star Festivities
It was a busy 48 hours for 2015 Johnny Bench Award presented by BaseballSavings.com recipient Garrett Stubbs, as he traveled to Cincinnati to take part in the 2015 MLB All-Star Game Festivities.
During his visit, Garrett attended the MLB Futures and Celebrity Softball games on Sunday. On Monday, he joined Johnny Bench at FanFest before attending the Home Run Derby. Follow this link to listen to a part of Garrett and Johnny's interview.
2015 Greater Wichita Sports Banquet
It was an evening of celebration at the 18th Annual Greater Wichita Sports Banquet as local awards were handed out in various categories. The event concluded with Johnny Bench, former Cincinnati Reds catcher and Hall of Famer, as he presented the Johnny Bench Award presented by BaseballSavings.com to Southern California catcher, Garrett Stubbs. Kade Scivicque of Louisiana State University and Matt Winn of Virginia Military Institute were also finalists for the award.
The annual banquet recognizes the achievements and dedication of local youth, high school, college and professional athletes and coaches. The winners were:
• Keiryn Swenson, Maize High School – Lynette Woodard High School Female Athlete of the Year
• Denzel Goolsby, Bishop Carroll High School – Barry Sanders High School Male Athlete of the Year
• Madison Wedekind, Butler Community College – Junior College Female Athlete of the Year
• Garrett Benge, Cowley College – Junior College Male Athlete of the Year
• Alex Harden, Wichita State University – College Female Athlete of the Year
• Tekele Cotton, Wichita State University – College Male Athlete of the Year
• Brent Clevlen, Wichita Wingnuts – Professional Athlete of the Year
• Gary O’Hair, Andale High School – High School Coach of the Year (Men’s Sports)
• Shane Steinkamp, Augusta High School – High School Coach of the Year (Women’s Sports)
• John Ontjes, Hutchinson Community College– Gene Stephenson Coach of the Year
• Wichita Wingnuts – Award of Success
• Ryleigh Buck – Award of Excellence
• Garrett Stubbs, University of Southern California – Johnny Bench National Collegiate Catcher of the Year
"What an amazing evening," said Bob Hanson. "The achievements of all of the finalists this year were beyond impressive. We congratulate everyone on their accomplishments."
